Tell us about your garden and what you're growing

My garden started small with the standard silver beet, carrots & parsely. It grows every year both in size & scope. My husband built me a greenhouse last year, we covered in a large fruit cage & every year plant more fruit trees in our orchard. We use permaculture ideas for planning the land use zones, use animals such as pigs to clear new land, chichens to weed & catch bugs & all forms of manure for compost. I love trying new seeds like asian soup melons & choko vines this year. Sweet Chestnuts & a pomaganate tree are on this years's planting list.

  • Your garden sounds very much like ours (minus the pigs!) started off with a couple of vege beds that were here when we moved in, full of coal cinders and not too great, however we set to making compost and making more beds every year, just freeform, eating more and more into the yucky lawn, which i diligently mowed with a handmower at first until I wised up and bought a hand scythe and my son made a chicken tractor. we have planted lots of fruit trees but possums are getting the most out of them,,,
