  • Hi Kenny
I received the same email afew days ago, I had written an article on getting my TB hive in our monthly bee club news letter which I send to the Wn club, I did reply and they also sent the news letter to the guy in the wheel chair, I hope I can be of help for him. A TopBar hive would be ideal for anyone in a chair, right height and no lifting. I hope he gets one made, I also gave them the `Barefoot Beekeeper` site.
  • Ooops, I mean Jenny has been in touch, don`t know where the jeanette came from !
  • I am very keen to come up to Ak and speak to interested people ! Jeanette is going to get back to me with dates for early next year and hopefully we can organise a day or 2. A TB in every garden - now theres an idea, I will do my best down this way and further if possible.
  • Hi kenny
How amazing - I am reading the same book !! `Bees` - lectures by Rudolf Steiner that he gave in 1923 - I am enjoying it also, a very different read to all my other bee books.
I agree, we need to start a TB group across the country and put the info out there. At the 2 beekeeping night classes I teach I really push the TB as much as the Langstroth, I am probably slightly biased now ! The chap who made mine could go into business making more, I have a number of people interested, will talk seriously about it to him.
What do you think about getting a group together ? I wrote an article for our monthly news letter about getting my first TB and have had quite alot of interest back - exciting stuff !
  • Hi Kenny, I haven`t had to use a smoker yet when working my TB hive, the bees seem more settled as I only take one bar out at a time, the hive stays dark and warm - fantastic way to keep bees ! I do know about the Biobees forum, have joined but havn`t gone on it as yet. Do you have a TopBar hive ? I am really keen to get a TB group together.
  • Thanks for the link Kenny, I have listened to some of it, and his other suburban farming efforts but this will prompt me to listen to it all (so far). No more progress on the bee co-op but I am keen and so is Jenny I think. I keep meaning to ask friends...What are your thoughts?
  • Lol that's so awesome :) So you have a hive and stuff? I heard about ooooby on a blog I follow, I joined but hardly ever came on, I think it's pretty cool though :) I'm meeting my first ooooby-er this weekend actually!
  • Hi Kenny, I heard about some new, very simple design for bee house's, can you shed some light or share a link please.. i saw the the possible future, and must be part of the resistance.
    Simon
  • Lol okay sorry, was just a point of reference :) I'm good yes, and yourself? How'd you hear about oooby? And what's this about bee's? You have bee's?
