    Hi TK.. I haven't cultured any kefir for over a year (have now got an electric yoghurt maker instead). I do still have a few dried grains that I have kept in the fridge.. they could be 2 years old, but still smell OK and might be able to be resuscitated if you can be bothered. You'd probably have to rinse them, put them in fresh milk, let them grow and then strain them, repeating the process  several times until they came back to life.
