Tell us about your garden and what you're growing

Coming into our third growing season, will be resowing the successful plants like lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, pak choi, spring onions and a variety of herbs as companion plants. Will also experiment with a few new veges. I try to plan my gardening with my moon calendar.

  • Hi Helen - been a while since we made contact, but was thinking if the scobies were sealed into some sort of container they could be couriered?  I'm thinking of ordering some Kombucha jars in the next week or so, but if I can't get hold of the scobies it would be rather pointless.  Your input would be very helpful.

  • Hi Helen - I have an interest in making Kombucha tea, and have a contact who makes special ceramic Kombucha Jars which are really quite beautiful and funky.  Do you have the scoby available - it seems really hard to find.

  • Hi Helen, was wondering about your kombucha scoby. What is it and how does it benifit you? How long have you had your mother? and how long have you been using it in general?

  • HI Helen, re goji, I have had  four plants, mainly specials picked up at mitre10, only one has survived its first winter! sunny and dry it is NOT here in greymouth  though, so that might be why. Also snails seem to like to dine on them. The one that is now growing ok has been in a pot  in the greenhouse for the winter, although another didn't survive there in the summer, I thought maybe too hot and dry.... don't know if  it was the wet or the frost that had it in for the outdoor ones. draw whatever conclusions you see fit from all that lol. Still waiting for any sign of berries!

  • Hi Helen, they're going really well thanks.  Haven't we had some fantastic rain!  It will help get them off to a good start.
