Event Description

Presented by Melissa Gunn, this taster course introduces the ins and outs of urban bee-keeping for the beginner.

The course is over 3 Sundays (12 Oct, 19 Oct and 2 Nov, 10am-12midday) with the final session being a bit of hands-on experience with bees at a local hive.

Topics covered:

  • the legal requirements
  • hiveware and siting hives
  • bee biology and how to acquire bees
  • bee health and management
  • the products of the hive

$45 per person for the 3 week course.
