Event Description

Is there is a fraction too much friction?

How does sustainability remain meaningful through these toughening times?

With tensions and opinions as how conservation, production, human habitation and health integrate, the decision making processes that shape our landscapes are changing...fast.
Are we up to the challenge, and exactly what is it that challenge?

You are invited to join an evening of open dialogue with David Holmgren (co-originator of Permaculture), John Edgar (President of the Waitakere Ranges Protection Society) and you exploring these ideas and linking to Auckland and the Waitakere Ranges as a case study and opportunity.

Light refreshments will be served from 6.00
Session starts at 6.30.

I haven't been at the new council building yet, will it be obvious where we have to go?

Ok how does one join in on this without physically traveling? Would love to participate but cannot travel.

Hi Marcia, Millie pickle and I will go, we will be taking our car over on the ferry and will have room for two more people or three if someone can provide a child (11) minder.

That sounds fairly awesome Pete... My mother and I, and possibly a brother will be interested in coming along to that. I went along to a lecture by Jim Ife a couple of months ago about this very thing.

He shared a perspective which coinsides with my own in that, the only way forward will be to get back to local community and human values. I believe that raising the common awareness to this fact will be the greatest part of the challenge !

I'm not exactly sure how this is achieved and I don't feel very effective at doing it, but I like to attend the appropriate events, and I work at changing my own lifestyle to be more and more what I see as the grassroots solution.
