Sue’s garden is full of inspiration and production.  Sue has made the most of her neighbouring properties owned by Housing NZ and Parks Reserve (Jaggers Bush) with both chickens and growing vegetables (including sprouting kumara).  The garden is full of wonderful and unique ways of reusing materials and is completely organic.    Come and share Sue’s top tips in the garden and how to make the most of your patch (and your neighbours).

BD 500 stir – Spring is a good time to apply this preparation.  Known as cow horn manure, preparation 500 is basically fermented cow dung. It is the basis for soil fertility, and the renewal of degraded soils. It is usually the first preparation used during the change over to the organic/biodynamic system.  This is best applied in the late afternoon on a descending phase of the moon.
