Participatory Mapping Project Update

Hi all, I promised an update of the mapping project In the last workshop we covered. 1. Introduce GIS 2. Explore virtual Aro Valley 3. Discuss map purposes/options 4. Outline border Purposes According to my notes we are interested in maps that: Advertise to the wider community what's going on. Potentially to attract new gardeners. Allow future projects to be conceptualised. Investigate the geographical gardening history of Aro Valley Borders I may not have made the reason for setting borders clear: When the hardcopy maps are printed they will necessarily exclude some areas. There is a compromise between inclusion and scale. Here is link to a working map with the focus areas outlined. Fell free to modify it or make comments or suggestions (you will need a google account). What next I am in the process of gathering data relevant to the purposes discussed. When this is done I will print out hardcopies and bring them to the following working bee/potluck for map design etc.
