Summer pruning tomorrow (Sat 14th - wet day option: Sun 15th)
Time: 2.30pm (cuppa around 3.30pm – a small plate or cold drink would we appreciated.)
Venue: 12 Costley St, Carterton.
Contact 06 379 8034 or 027 9009 742 if weather is doubtful.
I grow a wide variety of fruit trees and am practically self sufficient in fruit & veg all year round. We’ll prune plum, peach and apple.
Please note that my pruning knowledge and skills are limited. The idea is that by pooling our knowledge and experience we’ll learn together. And we’ll enjoy one another’s company and (hopefully!) a nice autumn day in the garden!
As you may be aware, I’m also a seed-saver. And I’m the local agent for Bokashi composting systems. I’m happy to make both available on the day.
Thanks for informative day yesterday Hella. Nice to meet with everyone too. Just saw this post and video about the "Flow" hive, thought you'd like to see it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbMV9qYIXqM

An invitation to come and join us on Sat. 7th March at 1pm to help or watch a 4 year old mixed fruit tree orchard being pruned. Please bring secateurs and something to share for afternoon tea. We would love to hear from you, ring 3725624 if interested.
Is anyone here planning to go to this workshop?

Hi Claire
I'd be happy to donate some perennials - some are in bags, in need of tlc. Others are in the garden that I'll be clearing prior to mulching this week. You'd be doing me a favour if you gave them a new home!
Hello.. I'm trying to set up my garden It needs lots of love and hard work.. Does anyone have any cuttings?? Thanks.. Any Donations would be fantastic..
I've got raspberry canes & black currants to share if you're interested and you could easily enough take some cuttings from our worcesterberry bush. No fruit trees, sorry, as I've only just started establishing my own edible garden.
Thanks for your reply Hayden! Would you be keen to meet up for a cuppa - I'd like to talk about this a bit more. My home number is 929 7204. Cheers.
My wife & I helped set up the Wairarapa Soil & Health association just over thirty years ago. It went very well for many years and we even hosted a National Conference but sadly it was wound up over ten years ago.
