mine are a bit smaller this year, am wondering if the warm autumn didn't suit them so much. my best growing tip is to give them lots of horse manure - i mulch them with it when i plant them out, about 5-10cm thick, the manure can be fresh, it doesn't seem to bother the brassicas.

Are they planted to close together? They should be planted 50 cm apart though a lot of punnets say to plant them 20 cm thus the smaller heads

My brocolli are very healthy but the eating heads are so small. Why is this? my gardening book doesn't mention it and when I Googled it -I got a virus that I have just had to do a system restore to fix!!!!! so... still none the wiser (except how to do a system restore)

Would appreciate any advice.

Thanks Kiri

Ok nothing to do with food--- but my brachyglottis greii are dying off slowly one plant at a time. They look really healthy then one branch dies the all the rest and then slowly it moves onto the next plant. I have noticed that two separate (about 8m from the dying plants)-plants previously very healthy and looking great have just started the same process. What am I missing???

Would appreciate advise or where I can source information. Kiri
