You are simply expressing an interest in possibly starting an Ooooby Stall in your local area.

To get a good idea of how it works, come and have a look at our stall at 56 Surrey Crescent, Grey Lynn.  Tuesdays from 2.30pm - 6.30pm.

How does it work?

You may start with as small as an Ooooby Stall at your local market before developing it into an appropriate scale retail outlet for your region.

You will need to be willing and able to fund the start-up costs and manage the growth of your Ooooby Enterprise to its full potential.

If you are interested in growing food for your local Ooooby Stall join the Stall Growers group.

With planning my garden for the coming season (North America) I was thinking that perhaps I could start an Ooooby stall in our local flea or one of the farmers markets. However I am still uncertain of where to start!

Hi I am wanting to set up a OOOBy stall at the Ranui Market, I was hoping to get some more information on how it all works befor I approch the organiser of the market. Other than what I have read on this page is there something more to know? what sort of stuff are we able to sell, is seedlings and small handmade tools an option, how about second hand gardening books.

Is that the level things have to be at to start? What about growing a site to attract growers? our little market has a couple of hundred people thru it on a Saturday at the moment in mid winter and people stopping and asking about backyard produce. There are 8 regular stalls. Only 1 other selling veg - from a commercial grower. I want to grow this to benefit both the locals and people that may want to supply me and thought OOOOBy a good vehicle for that. Is this not viable?

Hi Wendy. You need around 1,000 plus foot traffic in a morning and about 20+ growers providing a combined total of about $1,000 retail of produce. Best to get a couple of local farmers to chip in too if the markets will allow it.

Hi Pete, you mention good levels of foot traffics are important what is ideal in terms of numbers do you think? and on average how many people would you need to contribute to the stall to make it work?

Hi there I have a stall running in the Trentham Market in Fergusson Drive Upper Hutt on Saturday mornings. I am happy to sell your produce on your behalf at my stall along the ooooby guidelines. This could develop into a Ooooby stall if that was possible in the future. At the moment I am looking for greens, fruit, flowers, eggs and hand crafts to add to what I am producing myself. I can collect on Fridays to sell on Saturday if you are local to Upper Hutt. I have regular clients and this market is independent and happy to have anyone sell anything. Its a community place. I would love to get an Ooooby stall going here in Motueka :) I'll try and find out what the regulations are like here to see if it's possible

2000 plus people is good traffic. That is enough for an Ooooby stall to work quite successfully.
