Tell us about your garden and what you're growing

We have a 10 acre block with paddocks we grow beef stock on - buy weanters, and sell at about 2 year old. Had a fuschia nursery for 5 years, 5 yr ago, and have a 16 x 14m shadehouse which we now use to grow large variety of berries in. Last yeare heard about squarefootgardening, and converted it to us in NZ, and had great success from 1 bed - 4' square, so now have 4, and will have 8 by next spring. also, lots fruit trees, worm farm, comfrey and seaweed tea.

    Hi, the photo I have used is of my first square foot garden, which is on its second crop now, still producing lettuce, carrots, capsicum, and other crops. has been a great experiment, which we are continuing, by adding more beds. The last 2 beds, we have made of kiwifruit bins, which we cut in half to make 2 from each. Only cost $5 a bin, so $20 will give us 8 bins. we set them up on ground, put lots of newspaper on the bottom (no coloured stuff, just white paper) and fill with our own compost, cow poo, chook poo, whatever, the top up with bought compost.
