A quick note to let you know how everything is going in the Oooobyverse.
Did you know that there are over 4,000 of us Oooobsters in the online community? That's a lot of food gardeners all in one (cyber)place. It's a labyrinth of great people and information, so take some time to explore www.ooooby.ning.com. Ooooby is steadily and organically developing into an evermore useful network of food growers and local food lovers.
At the heart of this network is the wonderful Ooooby Crew (pictured above with a few missing) who are building systems to make local food easy and fair. You guys are amaaazing. So much fun, so professional, so passionate... so alive. Woop Wooop!!
I've never had the pleasure of spending two days with such a dynamic, energetic, attentive, creative, good-humoured and intelligent group of people. With this calibre of crew, anything is possible.
We all slept in the community house, and in the middle of the night we were woken by Daniel talking in his sleep. In his young, strong voice he clearly and enthusiastically called out: "That's - so - f^$&*ing awesome! -- That's so coool" - He effectively expressed what we were all feeling about our time together, and the plans we were making.
The last 10 months have been quite an adventure as we have journeyed through the early stages of bootstrapped start-up social business. AKA the 'Ooooby Box'. The Ooooby Box is a local food delivery service which we have been prototyping in Auckland, New Zealand. It has been a whole lot of fun and we have the best customers in the world. Yes there have been big and little challenges scattered across our path, but the oooobyness has kept us forging ahead.
Soon we plan to start buying backyard crops to put in the Ooooby Box, so if you could manage to grow a crop of something in your backyard or paddock, please get in touch with Pania firstname.lastname@example.org
Nothing else to say really, other than I hope you enjoy plenty of time in your garden and plenty of homegrown food.
Ciao for now,
