I'm in urgent need my harvestmaid dehydrator has burnt out on us and we rely heavily on dehydrated foods.I have some preserves still to do. And being a single parent on an invailds benefit my chances of getting one are slim to none at all. If you please see one lying around thatbis unwanted un used and unloved please think of us or even one that we may be. Able enough to scrape the money together to get, we , my boys and I would be so greatful.
Noticed that you also reside in Flaxmere. I am looking into self sufficiency and living off the land. Noticed you had an interest in hydroponics - I am looking into aquaponics. Might be great to catch up for a cuppa and exchange notes, if you are keen. Riaz
Hi Tony, the cost of food was intially why I got into gardening. None of our kids are interested in gardening, although I have managed to change the perceptions of a few people at work. A couple now have gardens and a few chickens.
Hey Tony. I have made a few changes to your Freecycle group. It is such a great idea and I want it to succeed. I hope you don't mind.
I was wondering if you could write a little blog about the freecycle group idea? I could then feature the blog to the front page.
Gonig on about the chooks and council etc, you shouldn't have a problem with them as you are allowed to keep up to 8 chooks I think in the city. the chooks need to be 2 metres off the boundry and 10 metres away from a dwelling. As for housing NZ you would think that they would support you in trying to help yourself. Hey tell them that you are doing your bit for the green house effect etc and for getting the area out of the financial dole drums, you never know it might work and hopefully get them thinking.
