i live in a 100 year old villa that has been made into 4 apartments - no one really wants to share a vege garden so i made my own - the first out of old divan beds i had after i got bunks for the grandkids - and i found the most richest earth made soil under an old tree that was all the grass clippings of decades...numm that filled those beds....this is now my herb and whatever garden then i decided to make a no dig garden over what i discovered must have been an old shed - as things kept popping up out of the ground over the years...i laid down carpet, and cardboard then created 4 circular gardens layering with stable horse poo and other organic matter and let cook for months - then i bought in organic composting soil mix - built it up and this summer is the first time growing anything ...i am about to harvest garlic ....and am excited...
