  • that's great that the messages are working :)
all good, we have been planning to arrange some sunday gatherings after this month and see if that suits people better, and our last event of this month is this sat at envirofest, has been a full month with lots on! Melbourne sounds like a cool place.
Look forward to perhaps meeting you soon :)
  • Hi there,

have learnt that not everyone is receiving the ooooby gathering messages I've been sending via this website, for some reason...  so thought I'd better touch base and see if you are getting them, and if not - if you'd like to be in the loop just give me your email address and will fwd them that way ;)

normally there are backyard gatherings the 2nd sat of each month between 10am-12noon, and a great way to share produce and swap seeds etc :)

this month is sustainable backyards month, so we have extra events - we had a stall at the nashi harvest festival at the arty house in tepuna early march, which was fun :)  and a gathering at the mount community garden last wkend.

this weekend on sun 16th we'll have an ooooby share table as part of the stalls at they sydenham botanic reserve in otumoetai, 1-4pm.  (hopefully the weather will work out)  and sat the 22nd we'll have an ooooby share table at the envirofest family funday/workshop day at the historic village 10-3pm  ;)

might try some sunday gatherings from april to see how that suits people and that gathering will probably be at Jane Powel's in Papamoa that month, she's the one who often runs the 'make your own probiotics' and cheesemaking workshops.

hope you are enjoying 2014, and look forward to seeing you if you'd like to come along sometime :)

    - if you would like the gatherings emailed, you can send your email address in a private message, by either clicking 'add as friend' at the top left of my page, or text it to my mobile 021 064 9814 ;)

  • Hi Penny :)  that's a shame you have to work saturdays!  it's taken awhile for us to evolve, but finally things are drumming along nicely and a lot of people are really getting into it.

At this stage we are going to stick to the saturday as we are trying to make it a routine, so that it is easy for people to remember and because that day seems to suit most people at the moment, I will definately let you know though if there is ever a gathering on a sunday, and would really recommend contacting individual members through their individual pages on here. That's how a lot of people end up sharing info & swapping individually and getting to check out eachother's gardens on other days and making new mates ;)

  • Hi Penny :) Looks like you have a great garden, blueberries...! yum.
  • Hi Penny. I'm from Yorkshire at the moment, but am actually and Australian who lives in New Zealand normally. I will be returning to Waiheke Islandin September. Ilkley Moor ba'tat. Now there's a Yorkshire icon.
  • Hello Penny. Welcome. Looks like you've got the hang of the groups. Have fun oooobying!!
