Tell us about your garden and what you're growing

This year I had success with tomatoes, potatoes, maori spuds, pumpkin, spinach, silverbeet, corn, beans, peas, cape gooseberry, celery, parsley, rosemary, thyme, lemon-balm, lettuces, rhubarb, yams, mushrooms, chillis. Less successful were passionfruit, apples, tamarillo, fig, strawberries, lemons, capsicum - and blackberry ! (thought it impossible to fail with that). Basically, much less luck with fruits, despite all that sunshine and calm ??? Have young up-and-coming fruit trees in pots: plum, feijoa, apple, elder. Have mint, watercress and 'mouse-ear' mushrooms growing wild on the property, plus all the usual medicinal herbs - comfrey, chickweed, cleavers, calendula, plantain, dandelion, etc. I'm a qualified herbalist, especially interested in treating animals. Produce colloidal silver in bulk quantities, which am happy to swap. I have a large glasshouse 'in development' and a tunnel house also waiting to go up - this winter's projects ! I also have a lovely 1940s workingman's hut / bush cabin for rent, for anyone who is looking for the lifestyle.

  • Hi AJ, just for your information I have this weekend put your colloidal silver to use as I got something in my eye yesterday gardening and didn't stop to sort it out properly at the time. When I did pay it attention it was red and the surrounding area inflamed and swollen. looking like 'fight with a door knob' territory. Washed it last night and this morning remembered your gift and have used it 3 times today. First time saw the inflamation and pain around the eye go, 2nd saw the redness going and it has got better during the day. So thanks for that. Most useful. ;-))
