Tell us about your garden and what you're growing

We have 2 gardens - one is a lifestyle block in the Waikato with 50+ maturing species of fruit and nut trees, and the other is a tiny beach house garden with mature figs, guava's, loquats, pawpaws, grapes and Feijoa's on the coast in Stanmore Bay. My partner and I also own a business which grows yacon on (contracted) organic farms to export as a syrup ( functional food helps promote a good digestive balance)- and sell syrup and raw tubers in NZ too! Having grown up in farming communities where semi self sufficiency is a way of life most of my skills are inherent and I am loving learning more.

  • Wendy I have read that you take out the leaves that crowd the grapes to let the sun on them. Also if you have a lot of grapes i would be inclined to only keep the best.I will be doing mine in the next few days.
  • Might be best to ask your grape vine question in food growing q&a group https://ooooby.ning.com/group/gardeningquestionsandadvice
