lucky enough to have just moved onto a ten acre lifestyle block ,not much in the veggie patch yet except lettuce and strawberries, rasberries and herbs, very young fruit orchard, 2 new dairy goats plus kids , chooks to follow soon and maybe some sheep ;-)

  • regarding milking stand, do a search online there is a very good design out there that I downloaded ages ago.
    you can make one out of old pallets no problem
    when milking a first time goat, use a jug to get the milk and quicky chuck it into a bucket (preferably with lid), so that when she gets her hoof in it (and believe me she will), you only lose the contents of the jug, not the bucket and it is easier to move it quickly to stop the hoof getting into it in the first place
