  • Hi Kathryn, if you have no luck on Ooooby, there is a website called Beekeepers Forum which is very active, alternatively you could probably call the council and they may be able to let you know of someone who collects nests

  • hello Kathryn, baked quinces are a really good way to preserve them, I free flow freeze them after they're cooked and chop them up to use in baked slices and cakes and add them to apple pies. Keep the syrup to pour over ice cream. I prefer them baked over poached and bottled, you don't have to use the whole jar at once and can just take out a couple of pieces as you need them. Also make lots of jars of jelly with them - good for adding to sauces and using to glaze fruit flans and make lovely gifts too.

  • You should have at least 50% hens. Unlikely you'd have all roosters. Good luck : )
  • Would I be able to pick some up on Friday?

  • Id love some haylage Kathryn if its still available? Where abouts are you based?
