I have a very small plot. My front garden is mainly flowers and shrubs. The back garden was planted to palms before we arrived and since there is a wide deck I have added lots of pots. With little space I have opted to establish a series of no-dig boxes in which I grow veges and herbs.

    Hi Ann. Sorry for slow reply.Many thanks for your words of wisdom re little greenhouses! Decided against getting one as we get alot of wind here and although would probably really help little seedlings it could well blow over.That would be just too disasterous!

    Hi Ann.A big warm wintery hello to you. I'm thinking of getting one of those small glasshouses(like you have). Thought it might be helpful with these cold temps, how do you find it? Helpful?

    Yes, I am making a Turkish Aubergine Pilaf (which has lovely cinnamon and allspice) with a Beetroot and Yoghurt salad - also Turkish (both recipes from Claudia Roden's Arabesque). I gave some away and there is only one left to slave over and cherish.

    Good to hear about your galangal. One of my ots has flowered but the other is still thinking about it!

    Hi Ann. Wanted to let you know, the galangal you gave me, is very happy planted in the garden and starting to sprout away madly! Can't wait to use it!! And your aubergines were looking AWESOME the other day. Have you harvested them yet? Annabelle :)
