Mostly just herbs at the moment. We have a crazy garden with lots of trees and not much space and sunlight for vegetables. We are going to make some raised garden beds soon and get into permaculture. We're just waiting for some fine weather.

  • Hi Isa I was wondering how you got on with the sick hen. Sorry about all the doom and gloom advice on the poultry page. I hope you had a better outcome. - regards - Kristen
  • Hi Isa. Yes there are quite a few others interested in starting an Ooooby stall at their local markets. You can see them at the Ooooby Stall Holders group. We still only have one formal Ooooby Stall at the Grey Lynn farmers market, however I understand that people are already running unofficial Ooooby style stalls. There may be someone in the group that would be interested in getting something going in Hamilton. Otherwise, feel free to start the ball rolling.
  • That's great - sorry I missed you today. My garden is still 'under construction' but the feijoa trees were there when we moved in, so we get loads. I might give your recipe a try, next time I make a cheesecake. It sounds good - and a great way to use up those skins! Keri :-)
  • You can have the lot if you like - nobody else seems to want any. And we will have plenty more in a few days anyway. :-)
  • Hi Isa, we are in Nawton. I have two buckets of feijoas and more falling daily! Our address is 36 Rosehill Place - I am going to leave the buckets of feijoas down the side of the house, so if you want some just call around with a bag or bucket and if we are out, help yourself! Cheers, Keri
  • Me again.. thought i would mention: Came across a wonderful book at Whitcolls the other day, Xanthe White's Organic Gardening. Great little book Take a look.. lots of photos and inspiring both for backyard and larger scale gardening.

  • Thanks Jessica... yes you probably did see our home in a magazine. I was in the garden 'til night fall last night, catching up around the beds!!

    Thanks for the compliment!!
Enjoy the planning and doing of your soon to be garden beds!
  • Hi, got your email re. milk group. Have fwd it to the group and will let you know soon. I know someone else on Boundary rd who's interested in getting milk, so maybe its time to split the group again...we currently have 6 people.
