Stupidly got stung by my own nettles. I tried cellotape to pull the stings out, vinegar, baking soda, soap, anti-histamine cream, pee pee and calamine lotion - none of which really worked. Need to let some docks grow and plant some Aloe.

Nettles are a wonderfully useful plant, highly nutritious. Higher in protein than any other plant. As they can be invasive, we grow ours in a plastic drum. Plan to make nettle beer, next spring growth. We allways include it in our kimchee, etc.

Use the leaves themselves as an antidote. Crush them up to get juice and put this on the stinging areas.

And yes...use gloves to pick the leaves...;-)

Aloe is always useful to grow, and you can eat dock in small quantities but I never found it to work on nettle stings.
