On Monday 25th August, I sowed all my early seed, some in trays and some direct...peas, beans, cucumbers, eggplants, peppers, tomatoes, beets, carrots, celeriac, celery, cress, lettuces, mesclun, onions, radishes, salsify, spinach, turnips and several types of squash and pumpkin. In addition I sowed some nasturtium and marigold seeds. Today, Saturday, being the gorgeous, hot, sunny day that has been bestowed upon Napier, I have sown a further tray of marigolds and borage...good for companion planting and for attracting bees to the garden. The lettuce and radish seeds sown on Monday are JUST showing their sprouts. I have purchased a black 63litre rubbish bin and filled it with water. In this, I have a sack with my kitchen vegetable peelings/clippings in it. Should supply a nice, nutrient tea for the garden. I will add prunings and clippings from the garden as and when I have them. Things are looking good.
