My inaugrual post!!
I have just moved to a new house in a new town, on a new island! We have a front yard which faces north (good- this is the Southern Hemisphere) and which is almost completely bare apart from a small rosemary shrublet and some just emerging bulbs (Sparaxis, maybe? I'll keep you posted on that one). I am already planning what I am going to plant and where, and have been eying up the Zoodoo website (awesome people!!)
The weather has been very mild for August. People are making hopeful noises about spring being here. I would like it to be true, but my weather geek gut instinct says we're being lulled into a false sense of security, and that we'll get slammed again soon. August in Christchurch is often when the really dirty weather happens. Like snow. Meantime, I'm happy to go along with it, enjoy the confused blossom by Prunus and early Narcissus, and plan my new garden of yummy bounty!
