Meet the Urban Farmers

Jean-Martin (JM) Fortier is known for his comprehensive and much admired book, The Market Gardener. Jean-Martin and his family are well known for their ability to successfully create a six-figure income from under two acres of organic vegetables, farmed by hand in Quebec. JM-3 . Curtis Stone is highly respected for his expertise with quick growing, high value annual vegetables for the consumer market, as described in his book, The Urban Farmer. One where quality of life and profitability coexist.

The potential

IF small-scale intensive, locally focussed systems that grow food naturally, can be shown to provide a healthy profit for the growers, THEN they can scale infinitely, not by each grower taking on more land or producing more, but by more farmers embracing the opportunity. This has the potential to positively disrupt the system, bringing sustainable food production closer to home.
