Active? Anyone home?

Hi Folks,

I'm curious is anyone is using these forums -- I know I've been absent for awhile myself, as I've been busy with other project details.

We started using the forums here because they're more functional than the ones within our own website, but now since we've been growing as an organization, I believe we're going to move back to a forum within the website, so I don't have to sign up every user twice, once for the site and again for the forum.

We have a new Sharing Backyards website on the way...the first stages of it will be ready in a few weeks, and the full build will be available in a few months -- it's features will make it a lot easier for those using our local programs to find partners, share resources and land, etc.

If anyone is still on here, could you post here, and maybe say a few words on forums -- if this forum was useful to you, and what we can add to the new internal forums in terms of functionality?

I'm excited for the direction Sharing Backyards is growing in -- Thank you all for your involvement.

Cheers,

Chris

  • Hello Christopher,

I know that I haven't used the forums much myself. Because of my involvement with other projects too. We have asked for funding of some projects in our community, to start a better community garden program... I am looking forward to using your Sharing Backyards website.

I understand your feel though. The same goes for my project itself. We are using facebook group to network but we want to bring into our website... I hope everything goes well for you, and maybe the technology will permit a better system, where we network everything, interlinked... Check out www.simpli-cite.net

  • Christopher,

    Great news about the redesign.

I think I'd prefer the separate Sharing Backyards forum. I have never really felt connected to the OOOBY site to the same extent, although it is interesting to watch the progress of groups abroad.

My expectations of a forum are very basic--that we all have a place to share problems and solutions.
