    Thanks for the awesome advice Alton! : ) I've got good access to pine plantations so I might haul home some buckets of pine needle based soil and trial some different soil mixes, including the one you've suggested. We get some fairly random early/middle/late frosts here so putting them in large pots is a very good idea!!  PS: I've sent you a friend request...
