Kia Ora Andrew - the poo situation is much the same - plenty to go around - you can still come and collect if you like, although the paddocks have just been harrowed, so the poo is all spread out - probably wise to wait a bit - however there are added layers of information! I am now grazing at a different place - we have a large poo pile, which has come out of the arena - this means it includes some fine gravel and shredded recycled rubber tyres - this is great if your soil is clay as it helps keep it friable, and is suspect it probably warms up a bit faster in the spring. This mix is also partly broken down already.
Also, my girls are saving up for a camp in Whangarei, and so we will scoop and deliver 4 rubbish bags of poo for $20 - you can decide whether you want poo from the arena buck, which we can deliver pretty quickly, or 'fresh' poo off the paddocks -which has no arena fill in it, but is also less broken down. The disadvantage of horse poo is that you either need to leave it in black bags in the sun to heat up and kill any weed seeds, or add it to your compost bin, or make slurry out of it, as the horse poo tends to conatin seeds from the grains they have been fed and/or seeds from the paddock from whence it was collected.
Another option is to contact the Wellington Inddor Riding School in Ohariu Valley - you can get a trailer load for not much $ at all.... Let me know whether you want to collect yourself, or want us to deliver. Enjoy!! Nga mihi, Nikolien (my landline is 934 9171 if you need mroe info)
