Tell us about your garden and what you're growing

We have just bought 1/2 acre in Belmont, on the hills above Lower Hutt. We're first-time land owners, so this is the first opportunity to invest some real time and effort in growing our own food, and to equip ourselves with the skills we need to become more self sufficient. There is an existing vegetable garden and some fruit trees, we are expanding both and we also have 2 chooks. In time when our garden is producing a surplus I hope to barter with nearby gardeners.
