I am growing kale, spinach and other salad vegetables. Also would like to start growing microgreens and garlic each year.

welcome to ooooby Cheryl. Garlic doesn't normally set true seed, it is grown from cloves. If you go to the ooooby stall at the Grey Lynn farmers' market and buy some garlic, you can plant cloves that will already be adapted to the Auckland climate. Alternatively, try Koanga.
