Tell us about your garden and what you're growing

our garden is full of native plants and some food plants, a couple of good feijoa trees, couple of grape vines, lemon and grapefruit, some maori potatoes and some silverbeent. We are just beginning to get into gardening really and have a lot to learn. My partner has just dug in the silt that came up in the back garden that killed some of our fruit grass and a black-boy peach tree, he shifted the silt, dug out the dirt under our old back lawn and buried the silt, then put the dirt back on top to create raised beds that we have now dug through some of the old rich compost. So now the back-yard is gone, we have a bit more room to plant veges as the native plants are pretty squashed. We've been looking to buy a bit more rurally like Little River and rent out our house in town, but we really want to get the garden and the minor repairs sorted first now, so probably looking to buy in the spring now. Really keen to develop our skills around permaculture, gardening and stuff before we take any more steps to move out country...trying to live the dream but get a bit grounded with the real skills we'll need along the way. Anyone keen to share skills or look at buying land out country as a group to reduce costs...
