Tell us about your garden and what you're growing

My partner has his PDC and I've been involved in Permaculture for a few years so we designed our urban backyard and have been building up our heavy clay soil using no-dig methods and planting pioneer plants of pigeon peas and various legumes, which have fed us as well as increasing soil nitrogen and chop & drop mulch. Our garden was flattened by Cyclone Yasi in early February yet recovered within a week due to the heavy mulching we had prepared with. Currently we are harvesting rocket, cherry tomatoes, eggplant. pawpaws, coriander, dill, basil, mibuna, mizuna, mint, snowpeas, amaranth, new guinea bean, kale, kai lan, sweet potato, white potato, turmeric, ginger, galangal, west indian arrowroot, queensland arrowroot, beetroot, sunflowers, zucchini, cardamom, garlic, welsh onions, garlic chives. Lots of citrus (lemons, limes, lemonades) coming on. Just made jams/cordials from rosella flowers and mandarins.
