Please phone first. Garden Size This is a court yard garden. Allow 30 mins to an hour. Price $5 per person for under 10 people. $4 per person for more than 10 and less than 20 people. For more than 20 people the cost is $3 per person. Brochure Available? No Parking On street only. Toilets No, there are public toilets in the Howick Village beside the information centre, which is 5 minutes away. Food Available Yes by arrangement only. Cafe/Restaurant available? No Seating Yes we have seating for 20 people. Picnics Yes you are welcome to bring your own picnic. Wheelchair Access Yes. Dogs Allowed No as we have a very old Fox Terrier. Children Allowed No the garden is not suitable for children. Accommodation No but we can recommend local accommodation in the area. Weddings Yes we do very small intimate weddings of no more than 20 people.The garden is completly private behind the 6 feet walls and has a tropical intimate feel. We have a charge of $400 for the venue. Weddings must be no longer than 4 hours. Food can be arranged. Plant/Other Sales Yes we sell bromeliads at this stage. Guided Tours The garden owner will be on hand to discuss the plant collection. Function center? No Winery? No Other Facilities We are 5 minutes from the Howick Village where you will find a real village atmosphere, and many cafes. The market on Saturday morning is very interesting with many unusual stalls. Crescent Hills, Orangewood and Bali gardens are 5 minutes away. These 4 gardens make an ideal tour as they are all very different. Check the site for the other rural gardens in the Whitford area. This garden is made up completely of a plant collection from Valeside Gardens at 266 Point View Drive. We developed the garden over a 17 year span. We moved to Cockle Bay in December 09 along with hundreds of plants which were potted up over several months into large containers. They are plants we could not bare to leave behind, we could call it a garden on the move. They will stay in there containers for now. The new court yard garden had only 5 trees, 3 large Queen Palms, a 70 year old Maple and an Olive tree. We have grouped the plants into areas in and around the trees. Then piled mulch up around the containers to retain moisture. We have then poked things in every where between the containers so it looks like a garden bed. The garden is completely private from the street, with a very tropical and intimate feel, which makes it perfect for small weddings/celebrations/birthdays/lunches etc.
