Ive successfully grown and harvested garlic in Calgary, Canada. I planted them sometime end of Nov 2015 and harvested early June 2016. Some 25 years ago, I had a small plot of land back in Malaysia where my brother in law and I planted some tropical vegetables alongside a few hens, rooster, a family of ducks, a goat and two female goose. We talked to the animals to not eat all the vegetables and that they should leave some for us, believe it or not, we had abundant vege, choy sum, long beans, lady fingers, chilies and french beans. It was a great experience.
