Passionate, determined, committed, creative, energetic, lazy, crazy and sometimes hazy. Inspired by tiny details in nature; full of ideas for too many things; house full of seeds saved and swapped;garden full to overflowing with vegetables and fruit; like to get on with stuff and work it out along the way; lover of coffee; eat daily from the garden; love to cook for 1 or 20; prefer to eat feral meat than farmed; love to help people start food gardens and improve what they have to suit their climate; green, sustainable living just is; must have a weekly dose of the sea...and always writing, writing, writing about the Adventures of the Vegetable Vagabond. Moved to Tasmania from South Australia in March and sooooooooooo happy.... Vegetable Vagabond on the move.

  • I found a couple of great sites when I was researching this - a couple who have espaliered lots of different trees in lots of different patterns http://www.rarefruit-sa.org.au/Espalier/Trees/Trees.htm and also the QLD gov site http://www2.dpi.qld.gov.au/horticulture/5508.html. I was wondering if the pain post would need to be concreted in
  • Hi Kate,
Greetings from Adelaide and congratulations on your lovely new home. I love the idea of WKI Day - just wondering if most members grow at home or if they also grow edibles at work. When we were building our office/surgery we replaced the fence around the carpark with a row of fruit trees - I like to think that this helped feed the homeless... I also have another question - I recently tried some Persimmons for the first time and was so impressed we bought a tree - has anyone tried to Espalier a Persimmon Tree and how did it go?
