Tell us about your garden and what you're growing
first of all....I do ALL of my DIY inside my home as well as outside in and around my garden. My garden is as organic as it possibly can be... Each season I re dig seaweed into the soil as well as untreated wood shavings. Because I do have cats I needed to put up wiring around my garden and have used some lovely untreated Matai as stakes....my beefsteak x3 plants as well as cherrie and acid free tomatoes are all grown from seeds which I bought them as tomatoes from the organic shop took a number of seeds from each and the rest is history!!!. Their are plenty of different lettuce, silver beet, courgettes, apple cucumber, spinach, peppers, green beans as well as butter beans growing with out a problem...this year I also decided to plant asparagus and they are doing well so am soo looking forwards to having them mature in a couple of years!!!. I also planted a lemon tree as well as a tamarillo tree and will be pleased when my tamarillo fruit in autumn and I have cape gooseberries, blueberries, raspberries and of course strawberries . My beautiful scented Christmas lilies are now in bulb and I do have a flower garden but I would rather plant bulb that are in season. I do spent many hours a week gardening. Last year I was asked by some people if they could take a photo of me and my garden for a one of magazine of people all around the north Island and the money was for the sick children in hospital so I agreed!!.
