Tell us about your garden and what you're growing

We're growing weeds mosly at the moment. We built and moved in mid-2010 and haven't sorted out the lawn yet! We've set up two 90cm x 1.8m raised vege beds so far (one seems to be permanently in strawberries) but I estimate we'll need at least 4 more to allow for crop rotation and another couple of permanents - rhubarb and asparagus. I've planted a blueberry (died due to wet feet), raspberry, mayer lemon, tahitian lime, satsuma mandarin, and 2 feijoas for far. We have a band of natives out the front between us and the road (pittasporums, manuka, kanuka, cabbage tree, etc), and I've started a low maintenance dry garden using mostly native carex grasses. I'm keen to get other fruit trees and veges in as well as more natives to encourage bees/ bumblebees/ native birds and a butterfly garden as well as anything else I can plant to break up the undulating lawn so I don't have so much to mow! 1500m2 section takes me about 4-8 hours by hand depending on length and season :|
