Hi Nicky, Portside went bust about two weeks ago. Shame!
'White cacao' does not exist, to my knowledge. Those recipes, highly likely refer to white cacao butter. You can buy it as raw organic cacao butter from the Wise Cicada in Newmarket. Make sure to ask your bank for a second mortgage before you go, or wait till your car has a WOF and the fridge is repaired ;-).
If $52 for one pound seems too expensive (I do agree), then go to www.equagold.co.nz and order the non-organic, non-raw cocoa butter from there! It is much more reasonably priced and still of great quality.
Hi Nicky, sorry for my late reply, new baby in the family making us blissfully busy. So how does the co-op in onehunga work? Prices, days of pick up etc? Thanks!
Was awesome to meet you Nicky, Thanks for the Text.. I haven't reply due to lack of credit. Yes drury would be much closer. Good news.. I may have found someone down here YAY!!!
Would you be able to forward any recipes you have for the cheeses or anything else would be greatly appreciated.
I've just been experimenting with this lot.. made a few sauces and puddings so far, Kids are loving it :)
I'm heading up to auckland tomorrow and collect some milk.. as still haven't had much success down here either. I could possibly collect some for you.. it depends on how we could arrange to meet and amount your after? I could possibly get a small amount to get you buy, however I will find a few phone numbers so you could join someones co-op group up there. Let me know if tomorrow suits. I'm trying to figure out how to msg you privately...
