This has been an interesting experience. I have not grown anything for a number of years. In the new place we moved to my landlady had very overgrown with weeds, raised beds. She said if I felt like cleaning them out I am welcome to use them. They came equipped with faucets etc. No pesticides or anything had been used in over 7 years. All was right and well with the world when at 3 weeks into the weeding I was done. Then the dreaded...I discovered they were infested with fire ants. It was almost the end for me until I started praying and planted anyway. I pray for my garden daily and have dedicated it to my Lord, my God. I planted on March 29th 2010 somewhere near 70 something plants. I have lost count. lol...I had decided to use varied methods vertical, square foot, and companion gardening. So far so good all have come up except my artichokes and peppers of different varieties.
