Currently not growing much at all. We live on a section with a lot of native trees - kauri, manuka, kanuka etc and anybody who has had to deal with these knows that you cant grow much under them - they are so hungry and toxic and shield out a lot of sun. We cant chop them down as they are protected by a covenant. Before they grew so big, I managed to get a fig tree and a nectarine established, but the fruit never gets very sweet as there isn't enough sun. After a long break I am trying to get back into growing veges and would love to know about any urban farms/community plots in the Auckland area. I have put my name down for poultry sitting because I had chickens a long time ago and would love to get to know a few chooks again, but cannot have them on our property which is unfenced.
