Tell us about your garden and what you're growing

We've developed a fairly large vege garden, berry house and mini orchard in our backyard, utilising herbs as ground covers. We make our own compost and have a couple of worm farms that help fertilise the gardens. We try not to use any chemicals, sprays, or pesticides and try as much companion planting as we can instead. The aim is we're trying very hard to not have to buy much fruit and vegetables from any outside sources. We don't have a lot of luck with potatoes, kumara, onions and bananas - so they are the exceptions. We preserve (by drying, juicing, or putting through our Vaccola) any left over produce so nothing goes to waste. This spring / summer we're sticking to just vege plants that we use (no exotics or trials).
