  • I have an average small section, with 4 cats two dogs and three children all in the garden I don't get to plant much to eat but I have hunderds of strawberrys gowing down my wall and my pretty walkway in my garden has desipaired from strawberrys self growing so I will leave then until spring to pot them up as they will make great croppers next year. I have planted rainbow silverbeet kale and broccolie, also brussel sprouts lots of lupins for green manure and potatoes. I've put horse poo on the garden thick this year to give it a good boost and i'm going to start planting the front garden with flowers and red cabbages. I'm growing rubbard as well but I don't like to eat it, just because it pretty so the neighbour gets it, I think i'll try your trick and use it as a mulch and see if it helps my flowers and cabbages! Thanks Shona. Let me know if you need any strawberrys!
  • Hi Kate, my favorite plant is my rose LD Brathwaite, I have planted it and neglieted it and it's still floweing like it's spring, I'm never tired of looking at it. Greatest sucess besides weeds, my swan plant, sadly the brids ate all my caterpillers ( the Cats at the Birds) and my swan plant (milk weed) flowered and it was lovely dripping small white star shaped flowers from the top of a large plant laddened in green leaves. even dissarster can work out! Good on you with that rubbarb its a very pretty plant. Did you know if you save the green leaves and boil it you can use the leaves as a pest control spray for your plants. Whats your next goal for your garden? Do you have a container garden?
