  • Look forward to it!
  • Hi sarah. The Chickens have laid their first eggs so they must be happy living the way they do. Feel free to pop round when you like.
  • Evening Sarah!
Hen update - although i didnt convince the nextdoor neighbours to get them, would you believe it, the neighbour dude to the left got them instead! ( Totally unexpected) Ha Ha, two of them. I can see them on the lawn behind me (or is it a fox!!) It looks all very small to me and they have to stay in their box (I mean pen/run (2 yrds) for 4 weeks) before they can be let out to be slaughtered by wildlife (I mean roam free)! We will see, but it looks to me like quite a lot of responsibilty without much gain for the birds. Feel free to pop round anytime for a look and see what you think. i understand it was just over £100 for two (2 week old birds) hens, a wooden pen and chicken wire and some plastic trays and food. I'll be intrigued to see how it pans out.
  • Oh by the way where is the box thought we was due one this week?
  • Hi love the blackness of it is to help with the Reading as I find too bright and I get headache. Think I need those glasses sharpish.
  • my first social network site !!
  • Hi Sarah. No chickens as yet. I'm still trying to convince nect door that they want to help me look after them! :-)
I'm away again next Tuesday but do want to come down and meet everyone. Thanks ever so much for the offer of the lift down there. I really hope to make the next one. I was away last week and came back to some lovely toms! :-)
  • Hi Sarah. It was wonderful to meet you and Alex last night. Thank you for making it along. With being such a young group, the opportunity is here to help shape it into a truly worthwhile project. I hope to see you both again next week and look forward to seeing how the group evolves.
  • Hi dearest I see you have been busy researching the chooks. See you later, looking forward to tonight.
  • Hi Sarah - you don't need much room for a couple of Chookie friends....you can build a small ark....like a small kennel on sled skids...you can move it around the lawn...one end is closed in like a kennel.....the rest is wired.....some are in a triangle shape....I have a book with a picture - if you are keen, let me know, and I could scan the relevant pages and e-mail them to you.....depending in the size of your lawn, and how often you move them, you may have to offer hen food as well.......Regards, Nikolien ( Urban chookie
