  • Hi Sean,
Thanks for the link, ideas are starting to come together as to what kind of hive and where to put it or them. I like the idea of the comment that if you attend the course then you get a starter colony of bees. We used to put up catch boxes and a feral colony would just move in after a while but there are no feral colonies left here now.
Thank you very much for hosting us at the last meeting, I really appreciated the afternoon and the tea and eats. It was good to go around your garden see what you are doing and glean some ideas.
  • Hi Sean,

Thanks for the link, will look into it. I actually had a bee-keeper over to look at our property with a view to keeping a hive but she said nowhere would actually be suitable :( Anyway, sorry to have missed the last meeting at your place. As it turned out I had to work Sat instead of the sunday! My garden is currently dry and lacking in nutrients and looking drab! Need to get some time and get out into it...
  • Great to have met you Sean. Let me know as soon as you have any ideas that you might like to engage with ooooby.
  • Hi Sean, yes I still have borage seedlings and more are growing. However of the white borage I have only adult plants left but luckily one of them is in a pot and can thus easily be taken. Otherwise, plenty of flowers to take seed from. I don't know what you have for exchange but am happy to just give away ... a look around in my fledgling garden and maybe some tips regarding problem areas is however always welcome. Just send me an email via siljabaer@yahoo.com to arrange for a time and such like. Thanks SIlja

  • Thank you!
Typically I go looking for cheese and come home with an eye on yoghurt and desert. How are you doing on the local food front? Did you manage the Grey Lynn Farmers Market?
  • Hi Sean. Thank you for the welcome. I'm Olli's mum, Andy's wife...how do you know the gruesome twosome? Jus
  • Hello Sean. Welcome. Great to see you here. Might we be seeing you at the Grey Lynn Farmers Market on the 6th September?
