BD 500 stir & GARDEN TOUR of Myra Currie's backyard garden

When: Saturday 17 April 2010    2pm - 4pm

Cost: $5 annual membership + koha

Bookings essential as limited places: Phone 826 4276 or email info@ecomatters.org.nz

Where: Myra Currie's place, 1 Glynnbrooke St, Te Atatu South

What to bring: Bring some kai to share for afternoon tea, a glass jar with lid (to take home some BD 500) & something for the trade table (if you have something)

Myra is a keen gardener and member of many groups including the heirloom seedsavers network.  Her small urban yard is packed with productivity with heirloom fruit trees and veges, bananas, compost and chickens.  Myra also practices square foot gardening. A lot of the garden beds are raised in order to combat some water shed problems that occur in the damper times of the year.

BD 500 is good to apply in the autumn and this date has been chosen as the moon is in a descending period and it is an earth day according to the biodynamic calendar.  So come along and join in the stir and share some tips and stories with other gardeners.

Directions: Take NW motorway to Te Atatu turnoff.  Turn left onto Te Atatu Rd, keep left at roundabout then take the fifth road on left, McLeod Rd.  Glynnbrooke is second road on left.  Myra's house is on the corner.
