I have a large Banana Palm in my back yard.
I've cut off and dug out the main stem (well thought i had) and now have a heap of smaller shoots coming up after the recent rain.
Any one have any ideas on how to get rid of it?

However in true Transition style I would chop the new sucker from the corm and give it to somebody that would love to have bananas. If you do that several times until the corm has spent its energy it will probably rot away and you are left with a big hole in the ground that you can make a pond from :).
