How to tell if its a cranberry

I was out walking today and found what I think are cranberries. How do I tell? Are there any tell tale signs. I can't remember what my bush and fruit looked like at our last house. I have tried to look at pictures on the internet but still not too sure.

Hi Richard, It looks very much like the same ones. When I opened one up there were more seeds than anything else. Is there a smell on the fruit or leaves?

  Don't know,i'll check my plants out and see,my fruit didn't do every well,all ive ended up with are these dried up ,hard little berries with lots of seed,but i'm going to grow them and see what turns up.

Hi Yvonne,they really are not named correctly but are Chilean Guava,the ones you are looking at wont have the flowers but is this it???
