Lime Tree growth

I share a garden on Aitkinson Road we have a Lime Tree that is all leaves and no sign of budding... I shifted it last year it's about 2 metres away from Lemon tree.. It just was not doing anything prior to shifting, leaves slightly yellow etc. Now just heaps of growth nice green leaves but no sign at all of the likelyhood of flowers.. Can anyone advise?

  • Where do u live? i live in wellington and also have this problem - loads of green growth. My lime is also planted too close to my lemon tree. Make sure not to fertilise in autumn so it can go dormant for winter. I'm still researching, although i have a micro-climate in newtown and my tree is very healthy i get very low fruit count.
    • Thanks for your reply, I'm in Titirangi ,Waitakere City, west Auckland.
I have mulched around the bottom of both the lemon and lime trees. They are just over two metres apart. Lemon tree just keeps on providing!! If you learn anything else do post it for us to read. Thanks
  • I think its a good sign that there's heaps of nice green leaves and that the tree maybe just getting its self reestablished after being moved.
Give it another season and see how it is.
    • thanks for that, I suppose sometimes I become impatient.. It's still looking nice and green with more new growth... will wait and see what happens!
