I am having trouble with the slaters eating my strawberries. Can anyone help me with a cure, preferably a safe chemical free option, so I can continue to scoff my strawberries and not the slaters. This is the second year I have grown them and had no problem last year with slaters. The strawberry bed in raised and I live in hawkes Bay. There are a few slugs munching on them too, but the slaters are the real problem.

Thanks, that makes sense, I will clean up the debris and see how that goes. Awesome thanks again!
if you put some old wood nearby the slaters might hide under it and you could catch them in the daytime. deliberate debris lol
Yes i dont use a mulch around my strawberries so no slaters, but i do get a bit of dirt on the fruit though.
